RAINBOW DOGS

Joe is a 6-yr-old Walker hound who weighs 59lbs. He is current on vaccinations, micro chipped, and neutered. After being found in the home with his deceased daddy, he was taken to animal control. All of the volunteers loved him but noticed that he was grieving for his daddy. A special class of teenagers visits the shelter 2 or 3 times a week to walk the dogs and Joe became a favorite. He loved his walks with the children. One of the girls asked for money for her birthday so she could pay for his neuter. He was neutered within a couple of days. A story was even done by Channel 3 about this special class and Joe was a featured pet. He is in foster care and waiting for a special family to come and adopt him.

Mickey is a curious, playful little Jack Russell/Beagle mix. He is only 8weeks old and has started his puppy vaccinations. Those little puppy teeth are very sharp and he loves to try them out on anything and anybody. He won’t be able to be adopted until he is neutered, but we are accepting applications.

Hope is a very appreciative 3 yr. old hound who was rescued from a local animal control.  She weighs 49 lbs. and is current on vaccinations and spayed. Because of her injured feet, our vet felt that she should wait a few weeks longer. It appears that her feet could have been chemically burned—either accidently or on purpose. Even with the condition of her feet, she loves to play and is learning inside manners.

Grover is a 10 mo. old beagle mix. He is neutered, vaccinated,house trained, crate trained,and micro chipped. Because of his young age, he has lots of energy to burn. People are his first choice followed closely by other dogs. He loves to play and cuddle. He rides well in a car also. If you want a friend to run with or to play with your children or other dogs, please consider giving him the home he deserves. He spent half of his life in a local animal control shelter.

Socks is a Shetland Sheepdog mix. She is a sweet senior at 14 yrs. old and was taken to Animal Control when her owners lost their home. She is current on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She LOVES to walk! Don't be fooled by her age--she's an active senior who really enjoys walking (she gets so excited and wiggly when you get her collar and leash), but she rests nicely when it's time to just lay around. She's good with most dogs and children. She's very loving and just needs someone who wants to share life with a special senior.

Tate is a very exuberant 1 ½ yr. old hound. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and micro chipped. He was a resident of one of the local animal control shelters and is looking for his forever home. If you are looking for a friend for your children or 4-legged child, Tate is your man. At 44 lbs. he is a bit underweight, but with love and a high quality food he will thrive.

Angel is a very sweet 4 yr. old female American Staffordshire Terrier. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. She weighs 61 lbs. and wants to be a lap dog. She is crate trained, house trained and knows sit, down, stay, and her left and right. She loves people, children and most other dogs; however, she is selective about which doggy friends she plays with. When she wants something, or wants to go out, she sings. She has a very good voice. She was abandoned by her irresponsible owner with her 10 one-week old puppies. Her pups have been adopted, but not her. She desperately wants her “forever” home. Angel needs a family who is experienced with this breed and will give her the love and patience she deserves.

This is the adorable and fun loving Reeses! As an American Pit Bull Terrier, he is proving to be an ambassador to the breed and is ready to please. His natural desire to perform has made him wonderfully easy to train, and he is only 3 years old and just under 50 pounds. He comes housebroken and crate trained and loves to roll over, dart through agility tunnels, and impress you with his "Commando Crawl."

Despite being dropped off at Animal Control one day, Reeses has a startling sense of humor. Sometimes you can even see him smile or wink at you! Reeses' dream-come-true-forever home would involve an active family that loves to take their dog with them. If you want a special dog for the agility course or for fly ball, this is your guy. He would also make a fantastic jogging or running companion.

Reeses is animal friendly and enjoys his playtime with other dogs. He simply doesn't understand that cats need that gentle touch, so he isn't recommended for homes with kitties. While Reeses loves little kids, older children are probably a better match for his energy level. This sweet boy has been waiting for more than 2 years for his forever home. While he loves his fosters very much, he would like to find a family of his very own.

Oakley is a mixed breed terrier who weighs approx. 54 lbs. and is 2 yrs. old. He is neutered, micro chipped, current on vaccinations, and recovering from heartworm treatment. He escaped from Animal Control once by being fostered by a very nice volunteer who fell in love with him and wanted to get him out. About a month ago, she was rushed to the hospital with a very serious condition. Since then, she is unable to foster and he was returned to animal control. His time was up, but we were able to find a foster home. He gets along with other dogs, chickens, goats, and people.

Mr. Bojangles is approx. 56 lbs. and 5 yrs. old. He is a hound who is current on vaccinations, micro chipped and neutered. They don't come with a sweeter disposition. Mr. Bo has completed his heart worm treatment and is looking for his forever home. All he wants to do is lean on you and be near you. If he can get in your lap, he'll be there. He was taken from a local animal control shelter where he had been for over a month. When he was first brought in as a stray, he only weighed 22 lbs. and it was not known if he would survive. He has such heart and did survive and is looking for his furever family.

Ziggy is a beautiful 1 1/2 year old, 42 lb. Shepherd/Collie mix. He is high energy and loves to play. He gets along with other dogs, cats (although he likes to chase them), and children. He needs a home with older children, though, as he tends to “run over” the small ones. Ziggy needs a home with at least an 8 ft. fence or a modified 6 ft. fence as he is quite good at jumping a 6 ft. privacy fence. He is current on vaccinations, neutered, house trained, and micro chipped.
